Happening

What's Been

In this section we will try to add events and happenings that take place. They were being moved to the blog, but when several pictures are added it makes it difficult. We are just revamping how everything is done.

School Time

Wow! We can't believe we've already been here for almost 5 months. We are so thankful that we have just settled into how life is here. The biggest thing we have struggled with is finding routine in our daily life. For the first 3.5 months we lived at the church. We loved being so close to everything, but there was concern about safety during the winter. We started looking for a place to rent and He blessed us with more than we could have asked for!

We so enjoyed going to Livingston to help with Justin and Keller's Kids Camp. It gave us the opportunity to spend time with them each week and the kids looked forward to it. Judah actually misses going every week! When everything is 45 minutes to an hour away, 2 hours doesn't seem bad.

Well, we've kicked off our school year and we are all adjusting to this homeschooling thing! We are so thankful for the opportunity to teach the kids at home, but it is definitely something new for us all. We are enjoying learning together each day for our Bible time and Montana state history; we then break off and do individual studies. Justin is such a big help, and I'm very thankful he is home right now. We do have a co-op that we have joined. Even though the classes don't start until mid-September, we have already had 2 field trips. Going to the apiary to learn about honeybees and how they harvest the honey was a real treat. We all like Montana honey better than South Carolina honey; it is much lighter in color. We also got to go to an alpaca farm to feed and pet them. While we were there, a baby alpaca was born and created great learning experiences for all of us! We are excited to see what this year holds for our education.

One of our favorite things to do, even before we moved, was to get out and go for a ride. That is very easy to do here! There is so much to explore and beautiful views everywhere we go. I try to take pictures, but it just doesn't capture God's handiwork adequately. Judah's been asking for some real binoculars other than the kid ones from Yellowstone. We finally got a pair, and they are loving looking around.

God Provides a Home!

God provided a beautiful home for us, at the end of July, in the small town of Bridger. It is about 45 minutes from Pryor, and it is the first little town coming out of Wyoming into Montana. The gas station stays pretty busy! We actually have a Family Dollar, and those are not on every corner here like they are in South Carolina. We love that the kids still have plenty of places to play. There is a park across the street with a big open field. The town pool and playground is 3 blocks down the street. They are also able to ride their bikes on the streets. The basement has a great playroom for them as well, so that will be great in the winter!

A Little About Our Transition...

When we moved in April we lived at the church. We wanted to let you know some things that we really enjoyed! The kids LOVED that they could play outside and that they had friends to play with. The boys have learned a lot about gardening and a little about farming. We loved our beautiful views, and we tried to take in His artwork in some way each and everyday.  While living in a small space, the kids made their bunks into "apartments." They  really owned their space. We were so thankful that they made the transition well without any true homesickness. Even though we have moved, we continue enjoy these things.
